What's new in EndNote 21
EndNote 21 is largely similar to EndNote 20, though there are a couple of notable additions.
- EndNote 21 now offers Cite While You Write functionality with Word Online and Google Docs.
You can download it via Extensions>Add-ons>Get Add-ons in Google Docs, and via File>Get Add-ins>More Add-ins in Word Online.
- EndNote 21 also features an upgraded EndNote Web experience
The new EndNote web look a lot more like EndNote desktop. To activate this new version of EndNote web, you must first download EndNote 21 and enter your EndNote web username and password in the Edit>Preferences>Sync area.
In Addition to these major changes, there are also some more minor ones, such as
- There is now a change case option for text entered into EndNote.
This is a feature that disappeared from EndNote 20 and then was restored in the latest version.
- The Preview window now has 3 tabs, Summary, Edit and PDF.
This is another change that restores the look of an older version of EndNote. In EndNote 20 the PDF tab had been moved to the summary area.
- There is a new Tags feature in EndNote
Tags function in a similar way to groups, the difference being that Tags can be colour coded. There is a 'Manage Tags' button found in the edit reference mode that you can use to assign Tags to a reference
