UTS Library provides in-depth support for EndNote and RefWorks reference management software. Zotero and Mendeley are other commonly used reference managers but they are not supported by UTS library to the same degree.
There are many reference management options available, each with their own benefits and limitations. Choosing the one that best meets your needs will depend on your requirements. For help with your decision, further information on the most common reference managers has been provided below.
EndNote is a comprehensive and powerful reference manager that allows the user to collect, organise and cite references using a wide range of referencing styles. UTS library provides students and staff members with free access to EndNote.
RefWorks is an easy-to-use cloud-based reference manager, and is usually recommended for undergraduate students as they become familiar with referencing and reference managers. It is not as flexible or powerful as EndNote and generally not recommended for use by HDRs.
Zotero is a free and easy to use open-source reference manager. It is quite good at handling the AGLC referencing style.
Mendeley is an easy to use, freemium (free, with paid options for extra storage) reference manager produced by Elsevier.
