Referencing is one of the ways at UTS to acknowledge the source of information you have quoted, paraphrased or summarised in your work. It helps make it clear to your tutor how you have used the work of others to develop your own ideas.
Anything that is not created by you needs to be referenced. This includes, but is not limited to, words, ideas, images or code, and can be taken from sources including:
You do not need to reference common knowledge - facts or information that is publicly known by most people and/or generally accepted as true.
