Reading Lists: Requesting a digital copy of a physical chapter or journal article

This guide supports teaching staff with using Reading Lists.

Resources already in the Library collection

A digital copy of a chapter or sections of a physical resource e.g. a book or journal can be requested:
1.    Add the resource to your reading list
2.    Click the title of the resource
3.    Click ‘Request digitisation’.
4.    Enter the chapter or pages to be digitised.
5.    Click ‘Send’
The request will be sent to the Library once your list has been published. Once we have completed your request, the resource will be available to students.

Copyright limits will apply. To request a digital version of a whole book, see Requesting an eBook if the Library only holds the physical.

Resources not held by the Library

You can request digital versions of resources not held by the Library. The easiest way to do this is to:

  1. Add the resource to the reading list (see how to do this on the Requesting a resource for purchase page)
  2. Send us a message using the Library Discussion feature to advise you'd like a digital copy of this resource (see How do I give the Library additional information about a resource?)
